"I’ve had fibromyalgia for two and a half years. I was dismayed to learn that my condition was chronic and would not go away on its own. Nothing was working for me.
I went to every type of doctor that there was. I went to brain surgeons because I couldn’t lift my legs high enough to keep from tripping. I was in a lot of pain.
I was getting more and more depressed. I went to many types of specialists for arthritis, muscle fatigue, or anything my family doctor could think of.
I would take tests that ruled out everything else that could be wrong. The doctor said that you have fibromyalgia. I thought I had cancer because I kept getting worse and worse. I was going to a psychotherapist and she suggested that I try acupuncture.
I thought, "What's a little needle going to do for my pain?" Everything else had failed up to this point. I felt that I have nothing to lose but maybe some pain and everything to gain.
I’m actually dancing, enjoying life, and working around the house...
Since I’ve been coming here, my health has done a complete turnaround. Things I could never do before, I’m doing now. When I think about a future, instead of just looking down a dark hole, I actually see a bright light.
I am feeling like I’ve almost had a 100% turnaround...
I have to keep reminding myself that I have fibromyalgia.
I have come to the conclusion that no matter what complaints, ailments, hurts that I come in here with I know I’m going to leave feeling much, much better. It always happens. After the first session or second session, I could not believe it. It was such a total difference on how I felt.
It’s been wonderful to feel alive again and not like a zombie...
It’s been quite a revelation for me. The medicines make you feel like a zombie. You kill the pain but then you can’t hardly walk because you are so groggy and fuzzy headed. My family has noticed a great difference in me.
My thinking is clearer...
My family is constantly coming up to me and giving me a hug and a kiss. They are telling me how great it is to have me back again the way I used to be. I was always bubbly. I started to be a, “No I can’t do this” person. Everyday now, I have turned back into that "yes" person. I’m enjoying my family and they are enjoying me again. I was getting very bitter because of all the pain. That bitterness has completely disappeared.
I have a lot of hope now...
I would refer anyone who has fibromyalgia. I would refer anyone that had aches and pains. I think people who play sports would get a tremendous value out of this. I used to play sports and I never thought I would be able to again. I’m looking forward to the future as my treatments go along, I may be able to play sports again.
I am back swimming again, I really love to do that...
Anybody that has even thought maybe acupuncture, should definitely try acupuncture. I think they need to come in with a very open mind. They may be very surprised that they may not need their bottles of medication any more.
