The Two Frogs Story

Many people have been asking, "Why the name Two Frogs?"
1. Is it because of the story of the two frogs that fall into the bucket of milk? One gives up and drowns, the other keeps paddling until the milk turns into butter and hops out.

2. Is because frogs represent transformation and healing? They grow from a little tadpole into an adult frog.

3. Is it because of the story of the princess who kisses the frog and it turns into a prince?

4. Is it because you have a pet frog? Where is the #2 frog?
maxrabia

Here's our pet frog named Max Kiwi Bob nose to nose with my daughter Rabia. He appeared on our kitchen wall in July 2006. I guess he hitched a ride on some vegetables and somehow end up climbing the walls. When I was a boy, I heard my mother scream when a frog jumped out of some vegetables she was cutting. So I was thrilled to see Max!

Max is a Bird Song Tree Frog indigenous to Georgia and Florida. Click here to hear his bird call sound. Part of our daily routine is bug hunting. He likes crickets, ants, flies, worms, grubs, and some small beetles. It's surprising just how many bugs are still outside in winter even when it's below freezing. Only when we can't find any bugs, we go to buy crickets and mealworms.

Why Two Frogs instead of One Frog Healing Center? Max needs a partner. Plus I am part of a marketing forum called www.5000BC.com. When I proposed the name Two Frogs Healing Center, most everyone loved it.

Frog News Update!

Max has now has a companion little baby frog that we raised from a tadpole. We call him "Little Guy " until my daughter comes up with a different name. We now officially have our two frogs!

Sad Frog News

Little Guy has passed from this world into the big frog pond in heaven. We will miss you Little Guy.

How we are "Green" at Two Frogs

Ways in which we are implementing a greener approach:

One of our clients who is consulting with some of the largest companies in the world on how to become more sustainable has helped us to identify many vendors of sustainable products.

Use less energy generated by fossil fuels

Turn off the heat or air conditioning at the end of the day
Compact florescent bulbs
Energy star appliances

Rechargeable batteries

Sustainable furniture

We have purchased walnut tabletops and a hardwood bench from a local woodworker who cuts down trees from construction sites.
The beautiful wood from these trees would have ended up being ground down to wood chips.
We have purchased hardware and furniture from a local non-profit organization that recycles construction materials.

Publish electronic information on our website or deliver it through email

We have an electronic newsletter which reduces the paper we use.
We post our electronic books, articles, and audio programs on alternative healing on our website for our clients and visitors.

Wash and reuse products instead of buying, using once and throwing away goods

We dispense water in ceramic mugs from a five gallon water dispenser. This reduces the use of plastic water bottles or cups that would end up in a landfill.
We use cotton sheets on our treatment tables that we launder instead of table paper that is used once and thrown out.

How we help our clients to be more sustainable

We teach all of our clients self-healing tools so they can heal faster on their own and spend less time driving back and forth to medical appointments.
We talk about our green purchases and practices to interested clients.
We encourage our clients to buy and eat organic products to enhance their health and well being.

We educate our clients on the health risks of certain food products that are highly processed or grown in an unsustainable way.

Recycle everything we can

We recycle our empty printer cartridges for reams of recycled paper.
We recycle our plastic, paper, metal, glass waste at a nearby recycling collection area.

Re-use materials that would otherwise go unused or to waste

We have planted hundreds of flower bulbs that we got from a construction site before they were about to be paved over.
We use composted leaf mulch from local trees to build up our flower beds around our center.
We have obtained fountains, indoor plants, furniture, and appliances from relatives and friends.

We feed our frog any bugs that we can catch: flies, moths, worms, or crickets.

Buy environmentally friendly and recycled products

Since we have our 9 month old daughter that comes to work several days a week, we only use environmentally friendly, non-toxic cleaners.

We purchase toilet paper, paper towels, and tissues made from 100% recycled materials, mostly post-consumer waste.

Giving special sustainable gifts that make clients feel special

We grow our own organic food in our garden and share that with clients or at special events at our center.
